After failing to stop a terrorist plot at a New Delhi train station, Bollywood actress Sonia Dutta is sidelined by the Indian government and forced to work as a urchin. The American ambassador, Robert Oakley Jr., brings her into his Washington Embassy as an aide. In desperation after being neglected by her own country, she takes charge of the entire Embassy operations and becomes the most sought-after diplomat for her personal touch. Just when it seems that she's finally made it in life, Sonia realizes that she's still caught up in conflict over whether India should give into western influence or maintain its sovereignty. Principal photography began on February 15, 2010 in Mumbai, India and Washington D.C., United States. Shooting continued until early May 2010 and was wrapped by early June 2010. The music rights of the film are acquired by Zee Music Company. The film released on 19 August 2011 in India with 721 screens in India and 159 screens overseas excluding Entertainment Partners. It had a great start and collected approximately on opening day and subsequently, it has collected . As of 5 February 2014, the film has grossed world wide. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics. "Chak De! India 2" was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2012. The DVD version includes the making-of of the film, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes and trailers.The soundtrack of "Chak De! India 2" received mixed response from critics. " hindustantimes.com" wrote that " Anand Raj Anand's score is alive, but not enough to save the film" and "Manish Singh of NDTV Movies rated it 3 out of 5. NDTV Movies gave the film 3/5 rating commenting that ""Chak De India 2" needs to be better than its hugely-sponsored predecessor." Filmfare commented saying, "Despite the inherent flaws in the script especially in second half, Anand Raj Anand’s music takes it to A1 standard." The lead cast of "Chak De!
